Jamie T has announced he will perform as the headlining act at Finsbury Park in 2019. On June 23, 2023, The Old Style Raiders rocker will perform a monumental milestone concert at the sizable North London park. The massive 45,000-person performance will be his largest headline performance yet, and the Wimbledon bard will be joined by special guests who have not yet been revealed.
Tickets will be available at www.ticketmaster.co.uk and www.gigsandtours.com beginning on Wednesday, August 3, at 9 a.m., and beginning on Friday, August 5, at 9 a.m.
When Johnny Vaughan of Radio X asked him whether he could share any information about special guests, he responded, “Look, I’m not [announcing] any special guests. They are being sold by me alone. They’re not selling me tickets, but if anyone wants to play with me, that’s great.
I’m the only person selling tickets, so I have to sell them all by myself. After that, I’m trying to get as many visitors as I can! Then he said, “Listen, kids. Here, we don’t screw around. Get tickets if you want to enter, and we’ll let certain visitors in.
The news follows Jamie T’s new album The Theory of Whatever, which peaked at number one in the UK charts and included the singles St George Wharf Tower and The Old Style Raiders. He said, in reference to achieving his first-ever UK No.1, “It’s amazing, mate. For my family, including my mother, father, and myself, simply knowing it is fantastic. It’s fantastic at this age, I tell you. I’m 36 now. It’s good to have music at this stage because I’m elderly and overweight.
After a five-year absence, the south Londoner had a stunning stage comeback in May, giving a small-scale performance at London’s Subterania before headlining the John Peel stage at Glastonbury. After a significant UK tour in 2022, Jamie T’s performance in Finsbury Park will undoubtedly be met with a hero’s welcome. November’s 11-date nationwide tour includes a show at London’s Alexandra Palace, which sold out in less than 20 minutes.
