For those who don’t know,
Said to be loosely inspired by an incident in Texas involving former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, John Wick is an American neo-noir action thriller media franchise created by screenwriter Derek Kolstad and sees Keanu Reeves as the main lead aka John Wick, a former hitman who is forced back into the criminal underworld he had abandoned. The first film was released in October 2014 and two sequels have already been released since then while a fourth film is set to be released in 2023.
Synopsis of the prequels
JOHN WICK (2014): Legendary assassin John Wick is retired from his violent career after marrying the love of his life. However her sudden death leaves John in deep mourning. When sadistic mobster Iosef Tarasov (Alfie Allen) and his thugs steal John’s prized car and kill the puppy that was a last gift from his wife, John unleashes the remorseless killing machine within and seeks vengeance. Meanwhile, Iosef’s father who happens to be John’s former colleague — puts a huge bounty on John’s head.
JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2 (2017):Â Renowned assassin John Wick sets out for Rome to duel with some of the deadliest killers to fulfil a vow he made. However, he soon learns that there is a huge bounty on his head.
JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 (2019):Â John Wick is declared excommunicado and a hefty bounty is set on him after he murders an international crime lord. He sets out to seek help to save himself from ruthless hitmen and bounty hunters.
John Wick Chapter:4
Release Date
Directed by Chad Stahelski, the John Wick Chapter 4 is said to be the fourth film of the John Wick franchise and is set to be released on 24 March 2023. The film was set to hit the theaters long back in 2021 but due to the Covid-19 pandemic measures as well as Keanu Reeves’s conflicting schedules with other projects, the film has been postponed to premiere on March 24, 2023.
John Wick: Chapter 4 Expected Plot
While there has not been any official plot synopsis quite yet for John Wick: Chapter 4, there’s a ton of speculations out there about what we can expect. The film is said to pick up after the explosive ending to John Wick 3, which saw John completely separated from the assassin organization known as The High Table. However, the most popular theory that has been resurfacing all around the internet is: With the price on his head ever increasing, legendary hit man John Wick takes his fight against the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Japan to Berlin.
John Wick: Chapter 4 Expected Cast
In addition to Reeves returning as the titular hitman, Stahalesky also recently confirmed Ian McShane would be returning for his fourth John Wick movie.
Other familiar faces confirmed for the fourth entry are Lance Reddick and Laurence Fishburne. John Wick: Chapter 4 has also been quickly building an absolutely stacked crew of new cast members, including a trio of proven action badasses in Donnie Yen (Ip Man), Scott Adkins (Ninja: Shadow of a Tear), and Mark Zaror (Machete Kills), alongside horror’s scariest evil clown Bill Skarsgard (It), scene-stealing Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada (Mortal Kombat), Wynonna Earp favorite Shamier Anderson, Japanese-British singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama in her film debut, and the goddamn Kurgan himself, Clancy Brown.
