Everything about Moon Knight Seasons 2 We Know So Far!

Even if you are not a fan, you cannot deny that you have never heard of Moon Knight. The Oscar Issac starred show that aired in the first quarter of 2022 was all in praises by fans and audiences all over the world. The craze was so huge that fans speculated for a second season as soon as they completed binge watching the first season itself. But for those who have never heard about the series, here’s a brief idea.

Moon Knight

Moon Knight is an American television miniseries created by Jeremy Slater for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics featuring the character of the same name. It is the sixth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to be produced by Marvel Studios, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise.

The show premiered on March 30, 2022 and ran for six episodes before concluding its first season on May 4, 2022. The series received positive reviews, with particular praise for the performances (particularly Isaac, Calamawy and Hawke), the darker tone compared to previous MCU series, and its portrayal of DID.

The series follows Marc Spector (played by Oscar Issac) who has dissociative identity disorder (DID) and is drawn into a deadly mystery involving Egyptian Gods with his multiple alters one of which is Steven Grant.

Moon Knight Season 2!

Now if you are clear with the premise of the first season, let’s move forward towards the second season. The first season of Moon Knight has it all and while there has been no denial in the fact that Moon Knight has opened Oscar Issac’s entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there has been no word about the show returning for a second season as of April 2022.

Infact as a coincidence, Oscar Issac does not hold a long term contract with the Marvel Studios. So that can be held as a big NO for the second season of Moon Knight even if the ending of the first season suggests something else.

Additionally, Moon Knight executive producer Mohamed Diab told news media outlets that the creators “don’t know if there’s a next season.” “We never discussed it being a season 2, but one day there’s going to be an expansion, but I don’t know how it’s going to look like,” he further added.

Although Moon Knight Season 1 is part of the MCU, Oscar Isaac’s character is not seen interacting with any of its heroes or their stories. Unlike other Disney+ shows, Moon Knight never mentions the Avengers. And in that case, makers have to come up with some storyline that connects Moon Knight with the Marvel characters.

It’s hard to guess where Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Jake Lockley would show up next. Although Moon Knight is part of the MCU Phase 4, its initial outing barely alludes to that fact. With no real connection to the greater franchise, Marvel will need to come up with some way to connect him to the other characters.

We hope for the best that our favorite series comes back with a new season soon.
