Back in 2015, an unprecedented partnership between Marvel Television and Netflix introduced viewers to a different kind of Marvel superhero—a street-level vigilante who operated in a brutal and bloody world. Yes if you have guessed it already, we are talking about Daredevil that was a hit and blazed the trail for all the subsequent Marvel Netflix shows.
About the series
Now for those who don’t know, Marvel’s Daredevil is an American television series created by Drew Goddard for the streaming service Netflix, based on the Marvel Comics character Daredevil. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), acknowledging the continuity of the franchise’s films, and was the first Marvel Netflix series leading to the crossover miniseries The Defenders.
Meanwhile the plot of the fiction series follows Matt Muddrock played by Charlie Cox who is a lawyer by profession. Blind by day and vigilante by night, our this superhero fights the evils of New York as Daredevil.
Arrival of Daredevil Season 4
It’s only a matter of time before Daredevil season 4 becomes a reality, as Marvel has confirmed Daredevil’s MCU return by announcing that Matt Murdock’s own series is already in the works.
Release Date of Daredevil Season 4
Following Daredevil’s Spider-Man: No Way Home cameo, Marvel has announced that they will be rebooting the original Netflix series into Daredevil season 4 for the MCU, to be released on Disney+. Marvel is yet to announce an official release date for the new series, and has been quiet about Daredevil’s MCU return. So long story short, we don’t have a release date yet but we hope to unwrap it soon. However, the season 4 is predicted to be released by third quarter of 2023.
Expected Plot Details of Daredevil Season 4
The end of Daredevil season 3 certainly left the show in an interesting place as it seemed to wrap up the Kingpin’s arc, and brought Matt Murdock’s life full circle, reuniting him with his friends. But the final scenes set up a new threat, with sociopathic FBI agent Dex Poindexter undergoing an experimental procedure to repair his broken back – and the camera panned in upon a bullseye in his eye, confirming he was morphing into classic Daredevil villain Bullseye.
If Daredevil season 4 is to be a continuation of the Marvel Netflix series, it could well build upon the classic villain.
Meanwhile, Recap of the first three seasons
FIRST SEASON: The first season sees lawyer-by-day Matt Murdock use his heightened senses from being blinded as a young boy to fight crime at night on the streets of New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood as Daredevil, while uncovering a conspiracy of the criminal underworld being led by Wilson Fisk.
SECOND SEASON: In the second season, Murdock continues to balance life as a lawyer and Daredevil, while crossing paths with Frank Castle / Punisher, a vigilante with far deadlier methods, as well as the return of an ex-girlfriend—Elektra Natchios.
THIRD SEASON: In the third season, after Fisk is released from prison, Murdock, who has been missing for months following the events of The Defenders, reemerges as a broken man and must decide between hiding from the world as a criminal lawyer, or embracing his life as a hero vigilante.
