Shout out to all the k-drama fans! I am here to tell you about one of the latest and highly recommended k-dramas named “Start-Up”. Directed by Oh Choong-Hwan and written by Park Hye Run, the drama premiered on 17 October 2020 on tvN. No need to tell but still the drama is in Korean language or more precisely it features Hangul. Start-Up has revealed the total number of episodes it has as 16 and two episodes release on every Saturday and Sunday ( one episode in one day).
Release Date and Time: Start-Up
Asians do love k-dramas and c-dramas. Start-Up hit the screens on tvN for the South Korean viewers this Saturday. Yes, yes, I know that I don’t need to be so dramatic about it so let me keep it simple that the first episode aired on 17 October 2020. The next episode will be up today at 21:00 KST. No need to worry as rest of the k-drama fans will soon get to watch it.
Characters and Cast: Start-Up
Start-Up’s cast includes some of the very best actors and actresses (and most of my favourites). Bae Suzy is playing the role of Seo Dal-Mi, Nam Joo-Hyuk is playing the role of Nam Do-San, Kang Han- Na is playing the role of Won In-Jae and Kim Sun-Ho is playing the role of Han Ji-Pyeong. Other members of the cast are Kim Hae-Sook, Kim Joo-Hun, Yoo Su-Bin and Seo Yi-Sook as Choi Won-Deok, Seo Chung-Myung, Lee Cheol-San and Yoon Sun-Hak respectively.
The reason for the popularity of k-dramas is because of their plot. Every drama has a different story but seems yet the same. The tale of Start-Up takes place in a fictional town of South Korea, which considered as a silicon valley. A girl named Seo Dal-Mi is the heroine who aspires to start her own business and become a Korean version of the famous entrepreneur, Steve Jobs. He encounters the founder of Samsan Tech, Nam Do-San, who is a mathematics geek but is facing some troubles in his two years old startup. Nam Do-San becomes the first love of Seo Dal-Mi, and they both find their way to success by supporting and helping each other out.
The first episode got something which makes it hard to wait for the next episode ( even when we know about when it will be up). SEO Dal-Mi is in an illusion that the letters she receives are from Nam Do-San. And to save her face, she lies to her sister, Won In-Jae that he was her boyfriend. At the same time, Han Ji-Pyung is the one who wrote those letters to Seo Dal-Mi because of her grandmother. Unaware of the truth Seo Dal-Mi seeks for her real and first love, Nam Do-San.
In the preview for the next episode, we see Seo Dal-Mi waiting for Nam Do-San in the middle of the street. Her expression is exact to show the one who is waiting to meet someone she loves, both nervousness and excitement. Nam Do-San meets Han Ji-Pyung and thinks of him like a twig of support to someone who is drowning. He knows nothing about the girl who loves him, Seo Dal-Mi and the letters. The plot is going to be very interesting as we witness the relationship between the trio become more intricate. Read a different article by me on the Scream Franchise while waiting for the next episode.
