His mother suggested Woods’s first name, Eldrick, because it began with “E” derived from Earl and ended with “K” for Kultida. He got his other name Tiger in honor of his father’s friend Col. Vuong Dang Phong. Woods grew up in California’s Orange Country. His father was the man who introduced golf to him. Tiger was one of the earliest African-American college baseball players at Kansas State University. He Chose Stanford University and selected a major in economics. Tiger participated in his first PGA Tour major when he was 19, the 1995 Masters. At age 20, he was the first golfer to win three consecutive U.S. Amateur titles. He left college after two years so that to choose golf as his profession.

Woods turned a well professional golfer at age 20 and started doing advertisements for brands like Nike. Woods got the title as Sports Illutrated’s 1996 Sportsman of the Year. On April 13, 1997, he got the major, his first Masters, in record-breaking fashion and became the tournament’s youngest winner at age 21. Woods was severely myopic. His eyesight was 11 diopters, so to solve the issue, he got his eye surgery done.
His vision again began to deteriorate in 2007, and he went for laser surgery. At age 24, Woods became the youngest golfer to achieve the Career Grand Slam. On a long break from December 2009 to early April 2010 to resolve marital issues with his then-wife Elin. The couple eventually divorced later. His ranking was 58 but went back to the No.1 order between March 2013 and May 2014. There have been ups and downs when he had to go through several surgeries, but our Tiger did the face of his problems successfully and today is one of th successful sportsperson.
